Does Daimler still image VRDUs?

No. All imaging is now handled by DELTA |v| in the eastern United States & Canada and Mecanica Scientific in the western United States & Canada.

What is the cost?

Standard benchtop VRDU imaging is $1,500.

What is the typical turnaround time?

Typical turnaround is 2 to 4 weeks.

Are expedited services available?

Yes. Turnaround times in as little as 24 business hours are available. Contact your regional service provider to coordinate.

Can DiagnosticLink still be used to image VRDU data through the DLC?

Yes. Nothing has changed with this process.

Can DELTA |v| / Mecanica image other modules from the truck?

Yes. Contact your regional service provider to coordinate.

Is onsite VRDU imaging available?

Yes. Contact your regional service provider to coordinate.

What Electronic Control Units (ECU) have data pertaining to the Detroit Assurance 2.0, 4.0, or 5.0 systems?

The ECU of interest for data imaging is the Video Radar Decision Unit (VRDU). VRDU location diagrams are available here.

What data is available from the VRDU?

Does the DetroitAssurance camera store any data? Do I have to send that in?

The proprietary Detroit Assurance camera does not store any video and should not be sent in. If the truck has a Bendix SafetyDirect camera there may be videos that can be obtained through the SafetyDirect Portal.

Does the radar unit store any data? Do I have to send that in?

The radar sensor does not store any incident data and should not be sent in.
